The Event

Mayday! Mayday! is a marine emergency services spectacular that is taking place in and around Falmouth Docks on Sunday 6th May between 10am & 7pm.

The aim of the event is to allow the general public to view all the emergency services and associated agencies that are involved with incidents on and around the Coast of Cornwall.

This is your chance to view the equipment we use, talk to the personnel involved, and see them it in "action".

During the day there will be an extensive programme of displays and demonstrations, both on the water, land, and in the air, including:

Marine Incidents - with Lifeboats, Helicopter, Fire Brigade, Coastguard and Ambulance

Road Traffic Accidents - with Fire Brigade, Police, and Ambulance

Cliff Rescue Displays - On a specially constructed 8m cliff face, with its own "Beach".

Launching of the Inshore Lifeboat to an incident - can you guess how long it will take?

Displays by the Customs & MOD Police Dog Teams

Surf Lifesaving Displays - including various surfboats

Rescues by the Fire Brigade Ariel Platform -who will be the Damsel in Distress?

Demonstration on the use of Distress Flares, Lifejackets and Liferafts

Royal Navy & Police Diving Team Displays in a large Glass Tank - talk to them underwater

Subject to Operational commitments Guest Appearances by both the Police Helicopter and Air Ambulance

Grand Finale involving all the Emergency Services

As well as all these events listed above there will be over 40 static displays, both on land and afloat.

Entrance Fee will give access to all static displays and demonstrations and includes a colour brochure, giving details of all the Emergency Services taking part, and the various sponsors of the event.

All proceeds from this event will go to the various Emergency Service Charities
